The 19th Century Smithy building at the Community run Smithy Hub, is home to ‘Balnacra Pottery’. Run by Lochcarron Artist & Potter Vicky Stonebridge. A unique range of decorative and functional Earthenware, Stoneware, Historical pottery and Raku pottery is made and sold on the premises, as well as Vicky’s cards, books, prints and paintings. The Pottery is Open throughout the year most days. If making a special visit book ahead as opening hours may vary in the quieter months.
Pottery classes and workshops are available for all ages and abilities.
There are regular weekly sessions for locals and visitors can also book a session where they will be shown a range of hand making techniques and be given the opportunity to try throwing a pot on the wheel with experienced guidance. Advance booking required due to a high demand.
